FAQs
What is the expected shipping time for my order?
We pride ourselves on our speedy shipping, typically getting orders out the same day or next day. However, during restock weekends, we need extra time to process your order due to the high volume of orders we experience during this time. Please allow an additional 3-5 business days for your order to be processed during this time. Many customers contact us during this period to make address or order changes, which also adds processing times.
We appreciate your patience during our restock weekends. Please know that our small team works diligently to get everything shipped out as quickly as possible. We're thrilled that our business is growing, but it does mean that we need a little extra time to catch up - and we appreciate your understanding :)
I see 1-2 day shipping at checkout, is this correct?
We apologize for the confusion. Unfortunately, the 1-2 day shipping option displayed at checkout is a glitch with Shopify's checkout system and is not accurate. We do not offer expedited shipping options such as 1-2 day shipping. Our standard shipping options are USPS Ground Advantage (5-7 business days) and USPS Priority Mail (2-4 business days). This also does not include processing times which during restock weekends can take an additional 3-5 business days.
Can I track my order?
Yes, once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with tracking information. You can use this tracking number to monitor the status of your package. If you did not provide an email at checkout, most likely our tracking and order confirmation went to your cell phone number.
How often do you restock?
We restock every month on a Saturday. You can always check the date on our website header or Instagram bio to see when our next restock is scheduled. To stay in the loop and be the first to know when we restock, be sure to subscribe to our email newsletter located on our homepage. We'll send you a notification as soon as our inventory is available, so you grab our handmade products before they sell out!
Why Tallow?
For centuries, Tallow has been a trusted and revered natural ingredient, providing long-lasting nourishment for our skin. Unlike the complicated and often harsh chemicals found in modern skincare products, Tallow is a simple, all-natural, and nutrient-dense whole food that truly supports our skin's health.
Rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, Tallow is a powerhouse of antioxidants and fatty acids that can help to:
- Hydrate and soothe dry skin
- Reduce inflammation and redness
- Improve skin elasticity and firmness
- Enhance skin tone and texture
- Support natural skin barrier function
But what truly sets Tallow apart is its unique ability to work in harmony with our skin's natural oil production. As a bio-identical match to the oil sebum produced by our skin, Tallow helps to regulate and balance our skin's natural moisture levels, making it an ideal choice for sensitive skin types, including baby's skin, eczema, burns, and rashes.
As we've drifted away from the simple, intuitive approach to skincare that our ancestors knew, it's time to take a step back and revisit the wisdom of the past. "Don't put on your skin what you can't/wont put in your body" - this timeless principle is more relevant than ever. By choosing Tallow as a key ingredient in your skincare routine, you can experience the benefits of real, natural nourishment without the help of synthetic chemicals, harmful preservatives, or fillers.
Will Tallow clog my pores?
Is Tallow good for eczema?
These nourishing, anti-microbial, and regenerative properties make tallow an excellent choice for a natural way of healing eczema. Many people suffering from eczema report that they can throw away their steroid creams after switching to tallow.
Don't just take our word for it - read our customer testimonials and see the incredible results for yourself!
What does Tallow smell like?
Here at Fancy Farm, we are very proud of the Tallow we use. Our Tallow is gently rendered over a long period of time, producing a mild pleasant scent all by itself.
If you prefer a scented cream we highly recommend our Tallow + Herbs or our best-selling Really Rose Cream:
(1) Tallow + Herbs cream is simply Tallow infused with organic Calendula, Chamomile and Marshmallow root all from small farms in the USA. This cream has a very light scent of Chamomile and Calendula and is a great option for very sensitive skin or can be used on children!
(2) Really Rose Cream is scented with Bulgarian rose absolute sourced from the renowned rose fields of Bulgaria. The scent is genuine real rose petals, capturing the essence of the Bulgarian Rose Valley in a jar! (This one is a best seller for a reason)
Why haven't I heard of Tallow before?
Great question! Tallow used to be a common staple, many old recipe books called for it! Legend has it, Cleopatra herself used tallow on her skin daily! Since Tallow has anti-microbial properties, it was also used to naturally treat different skin rashes and conditions as well. However, around 1950 we were misled to believe that fat is the enemy and clogs your arteries. Therefore, everyone must switch to plant fats like vegetable oil/margarin. This couldn't have been further from the truth! Vegetable oil is void of all of the healthy fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. Additionally, these vegetable oils are highly process, synthetic, and better suited for a car than a human body. Recently, people are becoming more aware that high-quality animal fat is a superfood and not to be feared! Animal fats are making a huge come back and more and more people are discovering the power that this healthy fat has on the inside, and the outside! Tallow is real long lasting skin nourishment. Those who have tried tallow on their skin simply can't live without it.
Where does your Tallow come from?
Our Tallow is sourced from a network of local, grass-finished and grass-fed farms in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and the Midwest. Even our jars come from Lancaster, PA! These farms share our commitment to sustainable and regenerative farming practices, ensuring that our Tallow is not only rich in nutrients but also deeply connected to the land and the community. By supporting these family-owned farms, we're not only preserving the traditional craft of tallow-making but also supporting environmentally friendly farming practices and helping local rural communities thrive.
Why Bulgarian Rose?
For centuries, Bulgaria has been the country producing world’s highest quality rose oil. In Bulgaria, the first rose plantations appeared around the town of Kazanlak in the 16th century. The climatic and soil conditions of the Kazanlak area proved to be more favorable than any other place. Gradually the number of rose plantations grew occupying a large area in central Bulgaria, known as the Valley of Roses. For more than 400 years, the Bulgarian Rose Valley has been considered the world center for rose oil production. Surrounded by two majestic mountains, the Balkan Mountain and Sredna Gora, the Valley of Roses is considered to have the best soil structure, air humidity, cloudiness and precipitation for obtaining the finest and most sought-after rose oil in the world.
Why Organic Cold-Pressed Jojoba Oil?
Jojoba oil's skincare benefits go hand in hand with the natural benefits of tallow. Jojoba oil boosts the Vitamin E content of our cream. Similar to tallow, jojoba oil is very close to the oil (sebum) your body naturally produces, so it feels light and is readily absorbed into the skin. Both tallow and jojoba oil are non-comedogenic and do not clog pores. As tallow needs a small amount of carrier oil to help it whip nicely, deciding to use jojoba oil was a no brainer. Read more about jojoba oil by clicking on our "Articles" tab at the top of our website. Our jojoba oil is of the highest quality, cold-pressed, chemical free and organic. We source our Jojoba oil from the Sonoran Dessert in Arizona.
Do I need to refrigerate it?
No, you do not. Tallow is very shelf stable. Your cream will be just fine at room temperature for 12-18 months!
My cream looks slightly different than the last one I ordered, why is that?
While our creams are handmade, which makes each one unique, you'll find that most batches are remarkably similar. The tallow used in our creams can vary slightly from season to season, but the difference is minimal. So, while each batch has its own distinct characteristics, you can expect the overall texture and appearance to be very consistent. We celebrate the natural variations that occur during the handmade process and use the same high-quality ingredients from our trusted suppliers, in the same proportions, to ensure a consistent product.
Do you ship internationally?
At the moment we only ship within the USA. We recently suspended international shipping to Canada in June 2024. Not only have we been experiencing a ton of issues with customs, but we're also seeing a lot of packages go missing or get delayed. We're a small team, and while we've been doing our best to keep up with demand, we've reached a point where we can't produce enough products to meet the demand from all of our customers, including those in Canada.
On top of that, the customs fees have been getting out of control and we're finding that some of our customers are being overcharged by a significant amount. We're really sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and we're working hard to find a solution.
Where are you based out of?
We are based out of New Jersey, USA :)
Do you offer returns?
Yes we do! Please see our full "Return Policy" located at the bottom of our website.
